Target Group

Stenographer/Typist, Clerk/Typist, Receptionist/Typist and others who may have secretarial functions to perform.

Aim

To help secretarial staff improve their skills, attitudes, knowledge and ultimately to improve their productivity and performance.

Course of Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the role of secretarial staff to the success of the organisation
  • Identify work attitudes and practices which influence good customer relations
  • Develop effective written and oral communication skills
  • Use the public service standards for typing memoranda, letters, cabinet papers, minutes and invitations
  • Apply the professional secretarial standards for attainment of high quality work
  • Apply occupational health and safety practices as set out by regional and international bodies
