Aim

To equip participants with the requisite tools and skills, to improve their coaching and counselling skills.

Course of Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

 

  • Explain the benefits of counseling and coaching to staff and the organization
  • Explain the difference between coaching and counselling in the workplace
  • Identify competencies necessary for creating a coaching environment
  • Identify circumstances that require a coaching or counselling intervention in the workplace
  • Identify strategies to manage different coaching situations in the workplace
  • Identify methods of helping the coachee to establish SMART goals

o        Understanding the needs of different personality types

o        Personality types (understanding, recognizing & motivating different employees)

o        Barriers to learning & experience in the workplace

 

·         The Coaching/Counselling process

o        Coach/employee relationship

o        Planning - determining coaching objectives, expectations & goals

o        Coaching models – eg. GROW, OUTCOMES, Coactive coaching model
