Target Group
Executive Officers, Senior Clerks, Clerical Officers and officers of related grades who are
required to perform supervisory functions.
Aim
To increase participants' skills, efficiency and effectiveness as supervisors and to prepare
them for undertaking greater responsibility
Course of Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Plan the work of their section
- Explain his/ her role in the organisation and how it differs from previous assignments
- Choose the most appropriate leadership style for a particular situation
- Manage his/her unit by applying practical coaching and motivational techniques
- Deal objectively with conflict within the work group
- Analyze and resolve problems that may occur within his/her section
- Apply the Public Service rules and regulations according to the situation
- Apply day to day control techniques appropriately
- Create goals and action plans for his/ her section to achieve overall organisational objectives
